02What is it?

What is Google Business Profile management?

Google Business Profile management is setting up, verifying and looking after the free listing that shows your business on Google Search and Google Maps, so it stays complete, accurate and within Google’s rules.

It’s often the first thing a local customer sees: your hours, reviews, photos and a button to call. It also feeds Google’s AI answers. Doing it yourself? Our guide to setting up a Google Business Profile walks through each step, and if yours has been suspended, see how to get it back.

What Google says

“Businesses with complete and accurate info are more likely to show up in local search results.”
  • Local results are mainly based on relevance, distance and popularity, and Google says positive reviews and helpful replies can help.
  • There’s no way to request or pay for a better local ranking.

03What we do

Six jobs that keep your profile working for you.

  • Set up and verified properly

The right kind of profile for how you actually work, verified so you control it. If customers don’t visit you, your address is hidden and your service areas are listed, as Google requires.

  • Complete and accurate details

Your real-world business name, a specific main category, your services, phone number, website and opening hours, plus special hours for bank holidays, so customers don’t turn up to a closed door.

  • Photos that show the real thing

Your premises, team, van and finished work, in focus and well lit. Google asks for photos that represent reality, and they help customers decide.

  • Reviews, asked for the right way

A simple routine for asking every customer, plus prompt, professional replies. Never bought, never incentivised, never only the happy ones.

  • Kept accurate

Anyone can suggest edits to your profile, and Google may accept them if you don’t respond. We check suggested edits, deal with duplicate profiles and keep your details matching your website and listings.

  • Help when things go wrong

If a profile is suspended or restricted, we check it against Google’s rules, put right what we can and prepare the appeal with you, through Google’s free appeals tool.

Your profile is one part of local SEO. For how the map results work, see our guide to the Google 3-pack, and for reviews, see our Google review management service.

04What we won’t do

No shortcuts. No risks with your profile.

Some “quick wins” sold for Business Profiles break Google’s rules and can get a profile suspended or hidden. Here’s what we leave out, in line with Google’s guidelines for representing your business.

  • Keywords in your business name Google says adding unnecessary information to your name isn’t permitted and could get the profile suspended.
  • Virtual offices or PO boxes Google says an address you rent but don’t operate from isn’t eligible for a Business Profile.
  • Extra profiles for nearby towns Google allows one profile per business and warns that duplicates can lead to suspension.
  • Fake or incentivised reviews Banned by Google’s policies and, for fake reviews, by UK law since April 2025.
  • Owning your profile for you You stay the owner. We’re added as a manager, and you can remove us at any time.
  • “Guaranteed top three” promises Google says there’s no way to request or pay for a better local ranking.

05Questions

Google Business Profile, straight answers.

What local business owners ask us about their profiles, including who owns it and what happens if it’s suspended.

What is Google Business Profile management?

Google Business Profile management is setting up, verifying and looking after the free listing that shows your business on Google Search and Google Maps: your name, address or service areas, hours, categories, services, photos and reviews. Done properly, it keeps your details complete and accurate, within Google’s rules, so customers searching nearby can find you, trust you and get in touch.

Do you manage Google Business Profiles for businesses in Worcester?

Yes. Get Found is a local SEO agency based at 39 Foregate St, Worcester, with a second office in Stockport, and we manage Google Business Profiles for businesses across the UK. Business Profile work is part of our local SEO service. Every project starts with a free visibility audit, and there are no long contracts.

Who owns my Google Business Profile if you manage it?

You do. You stay the owner of your profile and we’re added as a manager with our own Google account, so you never need to share a password. Google’s own rules for agencies say businesses must keep ownership of their profile at all times, and you can remove our access whenever you like.

Is Google Business Profile free?

Yes. Google Business Profile is free to use. When you work with us, you’re paying for our time and expertise in setting it up properly and looking after it, not for the profile itself.

Can you guarantee I’ll appear in the top three on Google Maps?

No, and be wary of anyone who says they can. Google says there’s no way to request or pay for a better local ranking. Its local results are mainly based on relevance, distance and how well known a business is, including reviews. We work on the parts you can influence and report honestly on what changes.

How do you handle Google reviews?

We help you ask every customer for a review, in the same neutral words, and reply to them professionally. We never write, buy or offer anything in return for reviews, and we never ask only happy customers: Google’s policies prohibit both, and fake reviews are banned under UK law.

Can you help if my Google Business Profile is suspended?

Yes. We can check the profile against Google’s rules, put right what we can and prepare the appeal with you through Google’s free appeals tool. Google decides the outcome and says decisions can take up to five working days, so nobody can honestly guarantee a reinstatement.

Rather talk it through? You’ll speak to the local team, not a call centre.
