01Get Found On Google and AI Search

AI SEO forlocalbusinesses

Be the business AI tools recommend.

Get Found is an AI SEO agency based in Worcester, working with businesses UK-wide. More of your customers now ask ChatGPT, Google’s AI Overviews, Gemini or Perplexity who to call, and get back a name or two. We help local businesses across the UK become one of those names, built on solid local SEO and explained in plain English.

Includes an AI visibility check: we ask the AI tools about your trade and town, and see who they name.

  • 22 years’ experience
  • Worcester-based, working UK-wide
  • No long contracts

Illustration: three AI assistant answers stacked one behind another, from ChatGPT, a Google AI Overview and Perplexity. Each is asked who is a reliable electrician in Worcester, and each names a fictional business, Lowesmoor Electrical, with its website and Business Profile lighting up as cited sources. The business and the answers are made up.

02What’s changed

Ten links became three names. Is yours one of them?

Your customers haven’t stopped looking for a local business. More of them are simply asking an AI tool to do the looking, and trusting the shortlist it comes back with.

Illustration: a Google results page with a map and a long list of links, next to an AI answer that names just three businesses, with a space for yours at number one.

IllustrationA simplified comparison. Real answers vary by tool, wording and location.
  1. Whole questions

People ask, rather than type keywords.

“Who’s a good electrician in Worcester who can come out this week?” That’s a question for ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google’s AI Mode, not a two-word search.

  2. A shortlist

The answer names one to three businesses.

Instead of ten links and a map, an AI answer usually offers a handful of names with a line on why. If you’re not one of them, you’re not in the conversation.

  3. Fewer clicks

Often, they don’t click around to compare.

The AI has done the comparing for them. So the businesses it names get the enquiry, and everyone else may never know they were passed over.

03How AI tools choose

How AI tools decide who to recommend. Seven signals we work on.

Nobody outside these companies knows exactly how each tool weighs things, and they keep changing. But the businesses that get named tend to have the same things in common. (Our in-depth guide to AI SEO goes further.)

  1. Clear identity

They can tell exactly who you are

Your business name, what you do and where you do it, stated plainly and the same way everywhere. AI tools think in “entities”, and a vague or muddled one is easy to skip.

  2. Consistency

Your details match across the web

Name, address, phone number, services and opening hours that agree on your website, Google Business Profile, directories and social profiles. Conflicting details create doubt.

  3. Reviews

    Real customers vouch for you

A steady flow of genuine, recent reviews, and what they actually say. AI answers often sum up review themes, like “quick to respond” or “fair prices”.

  4. Trusted mentions

Other sources they trust mention you

Local news, trade bodies, reputable directories and industry sites. Being cited by sources AI tools already rely on is one of the strongest signals there is.

  5. Answers

    Your pages answer real questions

Clear service and area pages, and straight answers to the things customers ask. Content shaped like an answer is far easier for an AI tool to understand and quote.

  6. Crawlable

Their crawlers can actually read your site

If your robots.txt or firewall blocks AI crawlers, or key facts are hidden in images and scripts, the tools can’t use what’s there. It’s more common than you’d think.

  7. Structured data

Machine-readable facts back it all up

Schema markup spells out your business type, location and services, matching what’s on the page, so search engines don’t have to guess.

04What we do

The work behind getting named. No tricks. Just the signals, done properly.

AI SEO isn’t one clever setting. It’s a set of practical jobs, most of them good local SEO done thoroughly, plus a few that only matter now that AI tools are reading your business. It’s also what people mean by answer engine optimisation and generative engine optimisation, and it includes ChatGPT SEO, Google AI Overview optimisation and an AI visibility audit.

  • AI visibility audit & tracking

We ask the AI tools what your customers ask

We build a set of real-world prompts for your trade and towns, run them across ChatGPT, Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot, and record who gets named. Then we keep checking, so you can see what’s moving.

  • Entity & brand consistency

One clear, consistent story about you

We find and fix mismatched names, numbers, addresses and service descriptions wherever they appear, so every source agrees on who you are.

  • Answer-ready content

    Pages that answer the question

Service pages, area pages and FAQs written for people, with the direct, specific answers AI tools can understand and quote. Written with you, so it sounds like you.

  • Schema & structured data

    Your facts, in machine-readable form

Structured data for your business, services and locations, checked and kept in line with what’s on the page. It helps search engines read your details clearly, though Google says no special markup is needed for its AI features.

    • LocalBusiness
    • Service
    • Organization
    • Breadcrumbs
  • Citations & digital PR

    Get mentioned where it counts

Accurate listings on the directories that matter for your trade, plus genuine mentions from local press, associations and industry sites that AI tools already trust.

  • AI crawler access

    Let the right bots in

We check your robots.txt, firewall and hosting aren’t quietly blocking the crawlers AI search tools use, such as OpenAI’s OAI-SearchBot and PerplexityBot. No special “AI files” needed: Google says its AI features don’t require them.

  • Google Business Profile

The profile Google’s AI leans on

Google says an accurate Business Profile can help you appear in its AI answers. We make sure yours is complete, up to date, active and backed by a steady flow of genuine reviews.

  • Plain-English reporting

    See where you’re being named

Regular reports on AI mentions and citations, next to your Google rankings, Maps visibility and enquiries. What changed, what we did, what’s next. No jargon.

05AI SEO vs traditional SEO

Not a replacement for SEO. The next floor up.

AI tools lean heavily on the same things Google does. So AI SEO sits on top of good local SEO, not instead of it. If the foundations are shaky, that’s where we start.

06How it works

Your questions, answered in order.

The four questions every business owner asks us about AI search, and what we do about each one.

  1. You ask: Do AI tools even know we exist?

Step 1, Check: We ask them, and see who they name

Your free audit includes an AI visibility check. We put the questions your customers ask to the main AI tools, note who gets named and which sources they lean on, and check your Google rankings and Maps visibility alongside.

  2. You ask: So why aren’t we being named?

Step 2, Fix: We sort the foundations first

Mismatched details, a thin Business Profile, blocked crawlers, missing structured data, pages that don’t say clearly what you do. These are usually the quickest wins, and they help on Google too.

  3. You ask: How do we become the obvious choice?

Step 3, Build: We build the signals AI tools trust

Answer-ready pages, a steady flow of genuine reviews, and mentions from local and industry sources. The kind of evidence that makes you the safe name to recommend.

  4. You ask: And how do we know it’s working?

Step 4, Track: We keep asking, and tell you straight

We re-run the same prompts on a regular schedule, report what’s changed in plain English, and adjust. If something isn’t pulling its weight, we’ll say so.

08Questions

AI SEO, without the hype.

Straight answers to what local business owners ask us most, including the ones other agencies dodge.

Are you an AI SEO agency in Worcester?

Yes. Get Found is a local SEO, AI SEO and web design agency at 39 Foregate St, Worcester, with a second office at Charter House, Norbury St, Stockport, and we work with businesses across the UK. Our AI SEO work helps local businesses get recommended when people ask ChatGPT, Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity or Copilot who to use. It starts with a free visibility audit, which includes asking the AI tools about your trade and town to see who they name, and there are no long contracts.

What is AI SEO?

AI SEO (you’ll also see it called AI search optimisation, GEO or answer engine optimisation) is the work of making your business easy for AI tools to understand, trust and recommend. When someone asks ChatGPT, Google’s AI Overviews or AI Mode, Perplexity, Gemini or Copilot who to call, those tools pull together what the web says about the businesses they could name. AI SEO makes sure what they find about you is clear, consistent, well reviewed and backed up by trusted sources. It builds on good local SEO rather than replacing it.

Is SEO dead now that people use ChatGPT?

No. Plenty of people still search Google and Google Maps, and most AI tools lean on the web to answer local questions. Many search it live and cite the pages they used. The businesses that rank well, have a strong Business Profile and get mentioned by trusted sites are usually the ones AI tools find and name. Good SEO is a big part of how you get into AI answers in the first place.

Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend my business?

No, and be wary of anyone who says they can. AI answers change with the wording of the question, the person’s location, the tool and the day, and nobody outside those companies controls them. What we can do is strengthen the signals these tools rely on, fix anything that’s holding you back, and show you honestly what changes over time.

How do you measure AI visibility?

We agree a set of prompts that match how your customers actually ask, such as “who’s a good electrician in Worcester?”. We run them across the main AI tools at regular intervals and record whether you’re named, cited as a source or missing, and who gets named instead. Because answers vary, we look at the trend across many checks rather than a single screenshot, and we report it alongside your Google rankings, Maps visibility and enquiries.

How long does AI SEO take to work?

It depends on where you’re starting from and how competitive your area is. Some fixes, like inconsistent business details, blocked crawlers or missing structured data, can be sorted quickly, but how soon each AI tool reflects them varies. Building reviews, mentions and useful content is ongoing work. After your free audit we’ll give you an honest view of what’s realistic for your business, rather than a date we can’t promise.

How much does AI SEO cost?

Every business is quoted after a free visibility audit. A sole trader in one town and a multi-location clinic need very different amounts of work, so we look first, then quote in plain English. You’ll know what you’re paying for before anything starts.

Do I have to sign a long contract?

No. We don’t do long contracts. The work has to earn its keep, and if it isn’t, you’re free to stop.

Do you work with businesses outside Worcester and Stockport?

Yes. We’re based in Worcester, with a second office in Stockport, and we do AI SEO for businesses right across the UK. AI tools answer questions about your town and your trade, so that’s what we research and test, wherever you are. We work by phone and video, and you’re welcome to visit either office.

Rather talk it through? You’ll speak to the local team, not a call centre.
